What I do at Langricks

At Langricks, my focus is on driving strategic growth — both for the business and for our clients. I’m passionate about ambitious, forward-thinking businesses and enjoy working closely with our team to turn ideas and goals into reality.
Technology and innovation are also key areas of interest for me, particularly how businesses can use systems and AI to improve efficiency and streamline finance functions. We are continually investing in new ways to enhance the service we provide, and I’m excited about the future opportunities technology will bring to both Langricks and our clients.
Life before Langricks
I qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Wheawill & Sudworth. They gave me the opportunity to build a career in accountancy despite what I would describe as a fairly underwhelming set of A-Level results. Their support gave me invaluable insight into the profession and laid the foundations for my career.
After qualifying, I took time out to enjoy a ski season in the Alps before joining KPMG in 2003. I initially worked within the Financial Services Audit team before developing a strong interest in corporate transactions, particularly while working on insurance brokerage acquisitions for a client. This led me to move into KPMG’s Transaction Services team full-time, where I advised on buy-side and sell-side transactions, refinancing projects, and corporate deals.
One of the most memorable projects I worked on during this time was the flotation of moneysupermarket.com.
In 2008, Camilla and I relocated to Monaco with our three-month-old daughter to experience life abroad, where I worked closely with the founder of Thalassa Holdings on its AIM listing.
Ahead of the arrival of our second daughter, we returned to England and founded Langricks in December 2009. Since then, we have grown the business into a full-service accountancy and advisory firm, supporting clients with compliance, audit, tax, and strategic business advice across a wide range of sectors.
Today, my time is split between leading the business and advising entrepreneurs and SMEs on growth, acquisitions, and exits. I particularly enjoy supporting business owners through sale processes and working alongside their corporate finance advisers to help maximise value and achieve successful outcomes.
Recent transactions I have been involved in include the sale of Nutravet and the private equity investment by Great Hills Partners into BigChange.
I believe my broad financial background — spanning audit, transactions, company acquisitions and disposals, flotation experience at KPMG, and hands-on commercial experience in industry — allows me to provide practical, commercially focused advice to business owners.
Life outside Langricks
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors with my family. Running, skiing, hiking with my daughters, and being on the water are all things I enjoy whenever time allows.
I also have a long-standing on-off relationship with golf — currently more “off” than “on” — although I remain optimistic that may eventually change.
