What I do at Langricks
I joined Langricks in Holmfirth in January 2002, and completed my AAT qualification before moving on to the ACCA qualification, which I gained in 2007. I am involved in the preparation of company accounts and corporation tax returns. I also review sole trader accounts and VAT returns, and prepare self-assessment tax returns.
Life before Langricks
After completing my A levels, I accepted a professional contract with Barnsley F.C. and played in the youth and reserve teams, whilst also having a six month loan spell with Napier City Rovers in New Zealand. I left Barnsley F.C. in October 2001 and worked in a temporary administration role for two months before starting my accountancy career.
Life outside of Langricks
I still try to keep fairly active and play 5 a side football once a week. I also play football in an over 35 league every couple of weeks or so. I am a 3 day member at a golf club and try to play whenever possible. The remainder of my free time is spent with my wife and daughter, or attending football matches.
